Editorial Creator · Design, Illustration & Visual Storytelling
Hi! I’m Desiree Arancibia.
I was born in Chile and have lived in Barcelona since 2004. Although I trained as an industrial designer, my professional path has revolved around graphic design and, since 2018, the editorial world.
I work on projects where content and form meet with intention, clarity, and sensitivity. I combine design, illustration, and writing to create books with a unique identity—those in which every element—typography, image, visual rhythm—tells part of the story.
I’m moved by small things, subtle details, what only appears if you stop to look. I have a deep, almost visceral creative impulse that is part of who I am, even when it challenges or overwhelms me. I live between extremes: mind and heart, order and chaos, turbo and zen. At heart, I’m an emotional animal disguised as a practical person.
My visual world blends formal simplicity with poetic hints, touches of surrealism, subtle humor, and restrained emotion. I’m drawn to soulful simplicity, meaningful details, and ideas that grow slowly but with direction.
In 2023, I published my first picture book as a complete author, and I’m currently developing new personal projects while searching for a publisher. I also collaborate on creative processes that value visual storytelling and care at every stage.
